MUMBAI: On his birthday, actor Sehban Azim made a promise to himself on his birthday that he would spend more time with his close ones. “During the lockdown last year, I realised that we often make plans to catch up with our friends and close ones but somehow, we are too busy with our professional obligations and tend to cancel or postpone those plans. We are so occupied with work that we have forgotten how to live and relax in our lives. On my birthday, I have told myself that while work is important, it’s not more important than your life and relationships. So, if not more, you need to give at least equal time to those relationships as well. And that’s exactly what I’ll be doing from now onwards.”, said Sehban who spent his birthday with his friends and family.
On the professional front, the actor is busy shooting for Tujhse Hai Raabta. While he wants to take up new projects or try something different, Sehban confessed, “I shoot for 26-27 days in a month. This show takes up most of my time. While I want to try something new and challenging, I don’t get much time. But let’s see what the future has in store for me.”.
Looking back at his journey in the acting world, Sehban said, “I started my career as a model and never thought that I would come this far. I am glad that I got to be a part of good projects which helped me to establish myself as an actor in the industry.”
He added that he never had to call somebody asking for work and instead, he was always offered work. “I don’t have any ego issues but I can’t do my PR or approach someone asking for work. I just don’t know how to do it. I feel if I am doing good work and if people want to work with me, they will find me and call me. I am blessed that till date, I have never had to approach someone for work. I have always got direct calls asking me if I am interested to do a show or not.”, he shared.
Sehban has often been linked with his co-star Reem Shaikh but the actor has always denied dating rumours. Asked about an update on his personal life, the actor laughs, “I am happily single and not dating anybody. There’s more gossip than reality.”.
And does he see himself dating or marrying someone in the near future? “See, you can’t force yourself to fall in love with someone. Either you feel it in your heart or you don’t. Of course, being in love is a wonderful feeling and I would love to get married one day. But I don’t think I am ready for marriage now. I haven’t felt the need to get married yet. My work keeps me so occupied that I can’t think of anything else. And I don’t want to marry someone because of societal pressures. However, my mother, just like every other Indian mother, wants me to settle down with someone. But I always tell her to let my elder brother get married first and then I’ll think of marriage. Main apne bhai ki wajah se bach jata hoon.”, he said.
Sehban told us that he has been offered Bigg Boss twice but he has always rejected the offer. "I am very shy and in the show, you don't have control over situations. Also, I don't feel comfortable revealing my personal life to the world. I don't think I will be the right fit for a show like Bigg Boss. Moreover, I have hardly seen the show.".
