MUMBAI: Actor Vipin Heero, who is seen as Malkhaan in Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain!, which is produced by Sanjay and Binaiferr Kohli under their banner Edit II, says the joy of being part of a daily soap goes beyond just work. For him, it’s about the bond he builds with his audience over time.
“Through television shows, many new people keep connecting with us regularly. They follow us on Instagram and Facebook too. But when you do a film or a web series, people connect with you only during that time, just while it’s trending. Once it’s over, they often disconnect. But with TV shows, you connect with people every day, and slowly they become your fans. So obviously, it feels really nice and special,” he said.
But sometimes the connection an actor builds with the audience goes much deeper as they begin to imitate the characters the actor plays. Vipin feels happy about it and said, “It means they like me and truly love my character.”
“As an actor, I am emotionally connected to my character, so if someone is copying or imitating it, I don’t feel bad at all. In fact, it feels nice because they are doing it out of love for me and my work,” he added.
Even with the audience’s love and support, his family will always be his biggest cheerleader. He shared that they are very proud of him and added, “Even if I’m far away from home or in a different city, they can still watch me. Even the people around them see me on TV. So when I go back home and meet those people, it feels like a very special and different experience.”
But social media can be a tricky place, especially with trolling. Vipin admitted that he has received all kinds of feedback on the platform but doesn’t let the negative comments affect him. He said, “I try to take everything in a positive way. If a comment is too negative, I usually ignore it. But if I feel there’s something I can actually improve on, then I definitely take it seriously and work on it. And to all those who appreciate me and have accepted me with love, I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
What can the fans expect next from his character in the show? “In the upcoming track, Teeka and Tillu Malkhaan are trying to propose to a girl. There are some fun wrestling scenes and fights happening for her. That’s what’s going on right now. It's going to be a really entertaining sequence; that much I know. But since everyone was off the set for the past week, I'm not fully sure what’s going to happen next. I’ve shared whatever little I know with you. Also, since it’s the rainy season, a monsoon-based track is coming up soon,” he concluded.
