I thank Rajshri Productions for believing that I could play a negative character: Rakesh Paul

Rakesh Paul, who is seen as Pratap in Rajshri Productions’ Jhilmil Sitaaron Ka Aangan Hoga on Sahara One, has done several positive and comic roles. But with Jhilmil, he is playing a negative role for the first time. Let’s hear from Rakesh about his character and the reason why he decided to take up the role. Shares Rakesh, “Well, when I received a call from Rajshri Productions for this show, they offered me a negative role. I was very confused as I never played such a character. I was mainly into comedy and positive roles. But I am thankful to the production house because they believed that I could play the role of Pratap.” So how has the reaction been from the fans? “I have been getting so many fan mails. Practically, everyone has appreciated my work. I am very happy that as an actor, I got to play such a character that I immensely love playing. Otherwise, I am open to doing other kind of roles too; I am open to do even reality shows. But if u ask me about my favourite genre, I will say that I would love to get into comedy once again.” Talking about his brother Rajeev, Rakesh observes, “All I can say that he is doing well in Bigg Boss and me, as his brother, shall always support him.”
