MUMBAI: Sasural Simar Ka actress Vaishali Takkar recently shared pictures from her roka ceremony on social media. She is all set to tie the knot soon.
She got engaged to Kenya-based dental surgeon Abhinandan Singh Hundal, and they will take the plunge in June. Vaishali revealed that she opted for an arranged marriage set up and found her life partner through a matrimonial site. The actress also opened up about her love story and her future plans.
She said, "We met on a matrimonial site and started talking. During the lockdown last year my mom just in a fun way, jokingly made my profile and she was like let’s get you married. Arranged marriage was never in my mind. But it is happening. My mom created my profile and since during the lockdown I didn’t have the option of going out and finding the love of my life, I thought it’s fine if I find it through a matrimonial site."
"I just kept rejecting the profiles but one fine day I came across Abhinandan’s profile and since I had rejected so many profiles my mom told me this is the last one she’s showing me and if I am not interested I can continue with my career. I was free at that time and I thought of giving it a shot. And for the last 5 months we are seeing each other. We started dating each other and since he lives in Kenya we couldn’t meet. He recently came down to meet me and everybody liked him."
"As soon as the situation gets better and we can travel safely, we will get married. Abhi lives in Kenya and his family is from Uganda. So as soon as they can come here or we can go there we will tie the knot."
