MUMBAI: Kyun Utthe Dil Chhod Aaye has been entertaining the audience with its intriguing storyline. It has a stellar star cast.
Kanika Maheshwari is also a part of the show. However, the actress, who entered the show earlier this year, has been missing from the show. Well, Kanika had to take a break from the show as the period drama shifted its shooting location to Rajkot (Gujarat) after the country got hit by the second wave of COVID-19 and Maharashtra government announced a mini-lockdown last month.
Recently, in an interview with a leading daily, Kanika revealed the reason behind taking a break from the show and also thanked the makers for understanding her problem. The actress shared that she was not comfortable leaving her six-year-old son alone and shooting at a different location during the pandemic. She told ETimes TV, “After the lockdown in Maharashtra which was recently implemented, the production house decided to shift the show to Rajkot. The production house asked me also to shift for a month. But I told them I cannot leave my child for a month during this pandemic. They gave me another option to take my child along with me to Rajkot but I wasn’t comfortable as the time was not right to take my son there. It was not the right time as I did not know anything about the new shooting location like how would be the food or how things would be when we shift to Rajkot. Also, if I would be busy shooting and I didn’t know how I would take care of my son. So I did not want to do shift.”
She added, “I requested the production house and the channel. I made them understand the situation. I requested them if they can manage to keep my character away from the show and they finally understood my reservations and it happened in a very peaceful and mutual way. In fact, I have now informed them that my family is there and I have full support so if they need me I can return to the show. But I don't know how will they do it because the story has taken a different direction. I really liked the show, it is very dear to me so if they need me, I can go.”
