Salman was paid Rs 2.5 crore every episode from seasons four to six of the programme, according to a Bollywood Hungama report, which was later doubled for Bigg Boss 7, and he was believed to be paid Rs 11 crore per episode in season 11.

The report stated, “Salman doubled his fees to Rs 5 crore for Bigg Boss 7. For Bigg Boss 8, Salman is estimated to have charged Rs 5.5 crore per episode and for Bigg Boss 9, he increased his fees to Rs 7-8 crore per episode.” The report also mentioned that for season 10 of Bigg Boss, he took home Rs 8 crore per episode.

Salman had asked media/people to ask Raj (Nayak, Endemol COO) to pay him that much at the Bigg Boss 11 press conference, making it sound like a rumour, but Raj's statement implied he might have been paid a large sum. Raj had said, “Salman Khan doesn't come cheap, you know.”

Last year, the actor declared in a press conference that he was delighted to take a pay reduction because of the pandemic Salman said, “This is the reason why I am doing this season of Bigg Boss. It'll provide employment to people, there's a very large unit, they will start getting their salary, they'll be able to get ration for their homes.”

Salman also responded to Endemol Shine India's CEO's statement that there would not be large raises, but that they were paying full salary, by saying, “What about mine? It doesn't matter. I am more than happy to cut it down so that everyone else gets paid.”

Bigg Boss is set to air from today on Colors and it is going to see various celeb contestants that would have to work hard to earn the basic amenities inside the house.
