MUMBAI: Lata Mangeshkar was hospitalised at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital on Saturday night after she was diagnosed with COVID and pneumonia. She has been in the ICU under the care of Associate Professor Dr. Pratit Samdani who has in fact been monitoring and guiding her health for quite a few years now.
Lataji's sister Usha Mangeshkar said that her elder sister was getting better.

On the other hand, Asha Bhosle said that she has to go by the health bulletins that the hospital issues every day. "They aren't allowing anybody. I went once but wasn't allowed inside the compound itself. There are severe restrictions and protocols being followed in view of the ongoing pandemic."
Added Asha Bhosle, "Besides, I too am not very well- a bit of cough and cold. I haven't contracted COVID; just a bit under the weather."
"But Didi is improving; she is better than before," Ashaji asserted.

Ashaji further revealed that their sister Usha Mangeshkar has been in touch with Lataji and gets her health updates on video calls.
The veteran singer who contracted Covid-19 recently is currently admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy hospital. A health report shared on Wednesday by the doctor treating her revealed that the singer will remain under observation for the next 10-12 days. Lata Mangeshkar has also developed Covid-19 induced pneumonia.
