MUMBAI: Ratula Saha Varsha in this exclusive interview with TellyChakkar talks about her upcoming web series Mombian - Gul & Sakshi Ki Pyaaari Si Love Story. The actress talks about her character, her journey, and her struggling days.
Tell us about your character in the web series?
My character’s name is Varsha. She is the sister-in-law of the lead character played by Ankita Sahu. She is a housewife but her thinking is very contemporary. She has her own opinions about things happening. She is very outgoing and surely knows how to take care of her own family.
Tell us about your acting journey.
I come from a theatre background. I used to do a lot of plays in Kolkata. I have learned Kathak in my childhood. I have been doing a lot of Kathak shows in Kolkata. Then I came to Mumbai to try my luck in acting. I have been giving a lot of auditions for television shows. After a few months of auditioning, I got my first television show for Doordarshan.
Tell us about your struggling days?
It’s a journey that every actor has to go through. When I came to Mumbai, I did not know anyone from the Industry. I got to know about a show, so I contacted the agency and went to give my audition for the show. But later, I came to know that the show got canceled. In those days I met a few people with whom I asked to give some contacts from the Industry where I can go and give an audition. So I kept trying and giving a lot of auditions. I started my career in 2019, so one whole year I worked on a television show. But then Coronavirus came in 2020, and all the projects that I was doing got delayed due to the pandemic.
