Exclusive! It was the most enriching experience of working with Mithun Chakraborty: Satyajeet Dubey on sharing screen space with the actor in Bestseller

MUMBAI: Actor Satyajeet Dubey in this exclusive interview talks about his upcoming web series Bestseller. The actor talks about his character, what made him say yes to the project, and the experience of working with Mithun Chakraborty in the web series.

Tell us about your character in the Bestseller web series.

I am playing a guy who comes from a small town to make his dream big in the city. He is a simple guy and also very quirky. He is working hard to make his dream come true. He is also confident about what he does. He is a sweet innocent boy who has been trapped in different kinds of things.

What made you say yes to the project?

For me, the most important bit was that it was a complete departure from what I have done previously in Mumbai Diaries. When I read the script it was a complete page-turner for me. The script is beautifully written by the writers and developed by the makers. When I was reading the script I couldn't predict what was going to happen next. If I am so thrilled while I am reading it,  So what we are going to make out of it will be exciting as well.  And when you are getting an opportunity to play one of the leading characters on a show like Bestseller, I think I would not dare to say No to it. It's a great opportunity so must not be missed.

How was your experience of working with Mithun Chakraborty?

It was the most enriching experience of working with Mithun Chakraborty in this web series. I knew I am going to be acting with the actor who is a legend and also a fantastic actor. And I went ahead with the intention that I just need to be in the flow and I need to keep observing him and learn as much as I can. What I am happy about is when I am fully prepared as an actor and when you go on the sets it really helps because Mithun da is a very unpredictable actor, in a good way. He will throw some kind of googly at you, the way he just takes pauses in the delivery of lines. So it pushes you to up your game and I am glad that I am able to do that.  We have a very good back and forth exchange of really amazing creative energies. I am also very happy that in one of his interactions he has mentioned about me that one of his favorite scenes is with Satyajeet in the show. So yes, I do have a scene with him.
