MUMBAI : Shashi Sumeet has been the name behind numerous blockbuster shows, we recently saw Kyun Utthey Dil Chhod Aaye and Barrister Babu, currently with Meet the producers are entertaining the fans. The stellar Jodi Shagun Pandey and Ashi Singh are winning hearts. Shagun has been one of the most successful actors of Shashi Sumeet's clan, they were the ones who even found the gem Anchal Sahu. Now, the production is all set to bring Banni Chow Home Delivery on floors.
We rang the gorgeous diva Ulka Gupta aka Banni, in an exclusive conversation we spoke about her accent for the character in the show, her attire and more, you would need a book to note her intriguing responses for sure:
Talking about Banni's accent, tell us something about it?
She has a unique accent as she says Mhara Bijiness, instead of business. I am so happy working on it, curating it with the Rajasthani Marwari accent and the desipana and the savageness for sure. Everything started in mid-January.
How long did you take to prepare for the character?
Everything started from almost mid/end of January. We had numerous mock shoot for Banni's look. She definitely wears a denim and over that she wears a colourful kurti. I just went to Jodhpur and the city is known for its colours and so is Banni. So we have colourful Kurtis with different prints, leheriya, bandhej, and more, the character is vibrant and for Banni I started cooking at home. I hardly got time to cook but when I had to my mom was really happy. She felt that finally a role has made her cook. I started practicing chopping vegetables at home, assuming a girl who delivers 150 tiffins a day must be a pro. I tried to make dishes, 3-3dishes a day I used to make Kadi chawal, Rajma Chawal, Chole, Paratha, Rotis, Mumma was really happy. She used to give duaein to our makers. Usually I used to escape from the situation but now I did cook.
What would be that one dish that you would make for us to devour on?
Since I love south Indian dishes, ofcourse north indian too. But I have been working in south for a while, I can make chole, Aalo Parathas, I make this bihari dish Ghugni, puris and I make lovely sambar which a mix of Telugu and Kannad style. I love to make dosas so yes, Pulav and all are cool. With sweet dishes I can make Gajar ka Halwa. I don't have a sweet tooth so I barely make sweet dishes.
