MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Television’s 'Mere Sai – Shraddha Aur Saburi' has time and again impacted it’s viewers with emotional and poignant messaging. The viewers are religiously tuning in to watch the show and immerse themselves in the miracles of Sai Baba. The show also brings in different tracks to impart Sai’s teachings and entering one such educational narrative and joining the cast will be celebrated actor Manoj Kolhatkar, who has been roped in to play an important and interesting character named Balwant Kulkarni.
Balwant is a high-ranking government official, who has been transferred to Shirdi. The wily bureaucrat has political ambitions and though he dislikes mingling with the lower caste, he makes sure the masses see him as a thorough democratic and as a man who is a champion of the masses. He has carefully constructed a masquerade to hide his casteist nature. However, his facade is blown away when his son expresses his interest in marrying a girl belonging to the lower caste.
Confirming the same, Manoj Kolhatkar shares, “I am elated to be a part of Mere Sai which is loved and adored my many, I myself have been huge fan of the show since its inception. Even if I have to play the bad guy, I enjoy highlighting the problems of society through my character. Being a part of such a show means a lot to me, especially because I believe in Sai Baba. I'm grateful that the producers gave me the opportunity to be a part of such a renowned show. "
The teachings of Sai are apt even for today’s generation and thus, reiterating the same, the show has been edutaining audiences of all ages with its powerful narratives that illuminate the society's flaws.
