MUMBAI: Bigg Boss 13 remains one of the most iconic and highest-rated seasons in the history of the reality show, remembered for its explosive content, strong personalities, and unforgettable moments. Among the many contestants who rose to prominence during that season, Asim Riaz stood out as the ultimate underdog story.
When Asim first entered the Bigg Boss house, he was relatively unknown to the audience. However, not many may know that this wasn’t the first time Asim and Rohit Shetty crossed paths.
In fact, their first interaction dates back to Bigg Boss 13, when Rohit Shetty, accompanied by contestants from Khatron Ke Khiladi 10, entered the house to promote the upcoming season. During this special segment, the top four finalists Asim Riaz, Shehnaaz Gill, Rashami Desai, and the late Sidharth Shukla were challenged to perform daring stunts.
Asim was tasked with a particularly intense challenge involving rats. Displaying nerves of steel, he completed the stunt with commendable composure, impressing not only Rohit Shetty but also fans and housemates alike. His performance left many convinced that he had the potential to be a strong contender on Khatron Ke Khiladi.
Interestingly, Asim had received multiple offers to join Khatron Ke Khiladi in the past but had to turn them down due to financial considerations. He was only confirmed as a contestant in a later season.
Reflecting on his journey, Asim’s demeanour during Bigg Boss 13 was calm, grounded, and composed—a contrast to some of the fiery exchanges he's had in more recent times. Back then, fame hadn’t yet consumed him. But with success comes change, and Asim's meteoric rise in popularity transformed his life almost overnight.
