Twelfth Indian Telly Awards: Thriller Programme
Moving away from the programmes with a social message and the drama series, we’d now talk about the thriller shows, a genre that keeps one glued to his/her TV sets. Below is a list of shows that have been nominated under the ‘Thriller Programmme’ category in the Twelfth Indian Telly Awards. Sony Entertainment Televisions’ Adaalat (Contiloe Entertainment) falls under this category as it has a lot of elements of suspense in every story that is solved by lawyer KD Pathak (Ronit Roy). There are different fictional crime stories in this episodic series that usually starts from the court room and ends up at different outdoor locations. The show is beautifully made as the makers make an effort to bring in a unique tale every time. In fact, even the locations that they choose are indeed challenging. For example, recently they had an underwater sequence that was shot extremely well. Firework Productions’ C.I.D. on Sony Entertainment Television is one of the oldest thrillers on Indian television. Every story usually starts with a murder. This is when the C.I.D. team comes into the picture and starts putting the puzzles of the murder mystery together. The show also focuses on a lot of forensic details that adds to its edutainment value. Moreover, the audience is always trying to put the puzzle together with the team on-screen. Thus, this thriller series definitely deserves an award. The next on our list is thriller – horror show that airs on Zee TV. This Dreamzzz Images’ Fear Files does not just give you goose bumps, but it also keeps up the thrill alive with some supernatural tales. Channel V’s Gumrah Season – 1 (Lost Boy Productions/Balaji Telefilms) is a show that showcases real life youth crime stories. But, the way these tales are presented, they do not let you move an inch away from your TV sets. Hence, the presentation of the show and some mindboggling performances by a few new faces, put it in our nomination list. Furthermore, we have Sony Entertainment Television's Crime Patrol Dastak (Optimystix Productions) in our list. The show airs real-life crime stories that are presented really well. Lastly, Life OK’s Savdhan India @ 11 - India Fights Back too falls in the category of thriller programmes as these are real life crimes that are first committed and later investigated into.
