When we got in touch with Priya who had an amazing anecdote to share with us.
Revealing her phobia, Priya said, ''It is funny but it is not funny for me. Almost 15 years ago, I had shared this incident somewhere. So, I have Tokophobia which is fear of being pregnant. I used to feel very uncomfortable seeing any pregnant woman. There was a childhood incident that happened with me when I accidentally entered the labor room when I was almost 13 to 14 years.''
She continued, ''My father was in railways, so I had got some injury and I guess the hospital was close by, there were a few people whom we knew there. So, I went there to get the first aid. I was showing my injury to the nurse. She took me the labor room and even she didn't realise that there are women in the room in labor pain. So, I was those women in pain, shouting and that got into my head. So, since then I got this phobia and I could not see pregnant women. Much later in life I realised that there is something with pregnant women when I see them. I used to stay away from them or not even attend baby showers.''
She added, ''Then I thought what will happen when I will get pregnant. How will I see myself? Then I actually went to a therapist and realised that it is a phobia.''
Priya also revealed that her husband Malav Rajda also knew about her phobia.
Luckily, Priya overcame her phobia and embraced motherhood a few years back and is now completely over this.
