MUMBAI: Anasua Chowdhury, who has been a part of shows like Dil Dosti Dance on Channel V and episodic series such as Savdhaan India, Fear Files, and C.I.D., along with the Aamir Khan-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha, and is currently seen in the web series Waack Girls, says she loves listening to podcasts as it takes you on a journey and also mentioned that she doesn’t believe in faking on social media.
“Podcasts are indeed trending. As consumers, the audience wants to connect with the artists on a deeper level, be it talking to them directly or knowing about them through podcasts. This helps them have an insight into the personal life of artists. I think it’s okay to share as long as the artist is comfortable sharing,” she said. “I myself am trying to be as real as I can on social media. This helps you connect with the audience more,” she added. She also mentioned that though there are a lot of things doing rounds on social media, there is much more to it than is actually shown. She added, “What they are comfortable sharing is what gets to us. I would definitely say this, though: sometimes these celebs don’t get privacy when they go out to eat, or for holidays, or step out of their houses even.” And Anasua is in favor of making announcements about relationships, engagement, marriage, breakup, divorce, and even pregnancy. She said, “They are just like any other human. If they want to share, that’s great. If not, then also great. It’s their decision to make whether to share or not.” But what about personal life stories going viral? “I would love only my professional work to go viral! Why not! If this way it somehow reaches a great director or a producer I want to work with, how awesome would that be! Personal stuff, not so much,” she ended.
