Drishyam 2 has been getting such an amazing response at the box office. How does that feel?
I am very happy and excited and I feel so good to be a part of the film which is doing so well. Generally, with the sequel, there’s a lot of concern and comparisons with the first part. But, I have gone to the theatres multiple times to see the reaction of the audience, and every time they clap, I feel really happy.

What response are you getting for your performance in the film?
I am getting so many DMs and I am trying to reply to them all. I am really happy that people are liking it. When I got to know about the character Anju that seven years later she gets attacks, is not mentally stable, and has anxiety, I was a little concerned as to how I will be able to portray it on screen and do it authentically. But, with the reaction, I am happy that people are liking it.
Remakes have failed to make a mark at the box office this year. Drishyam 2 is the only remake that has worked well, but was there nervousness before the release that the film will work or not?
I think one question that came across a lot was the fact that it was already released in Malayalam, and right now, with OTT people are watching it. Like seven years back it was not the case, most people had not seen it. So, are people going to come back? So, mostly my friends who had seen it, I would ask them that are you going to come back and watch the Hindi version, and they would be like ‘of course, it’s Ajay Devgn, we are going to come back’. So, though we were still a little nervous, at least I was, I knew people are going to come and watch it.
