The show is titled Jhanak and the first official promo which is finally released today. Hiba Nawab, who will be seen playing the leading role, took her social media account to post the teaser.
The promo is shot at a beautiful scale with scenic beauty surrounding it, but it is not a story for the light-hearted. We see Hiba play the titular role, whose whole life revolves around her mother, and how she needs to do her duties so that she and her mother can dream of a better life.
But like, you guessed it, what’s a smooth life in the story of fate? A powerful man named Tejas has his heart set on Jhanak, but she refuses him, and in turn, gets the biggest shock of her life. She loses her beloved mother, and now with nowhere to go and no one to rely on, she must do everything to fulfill her mother’s promise and leave the town behind, but will she be able to?
Take a look at the promo here:
The trailer is fast-paced, and we see quite a bit of the story fleshed out, so the mother’s death is not a big shock, and knowing that the show is based on the Jol Nupur, we could see where it was going.
It is shot beautifully, and Nawab described the show’s journey as a tough one in her post, but she looks great, and very endearing and the show does have a lot of promise, coming from the land of Leena Gangopadhyay.
What remains to be seen is whether or not it be able to hold strong as an adaptation of the original.
