Now, in an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar, Manjari Fadnnis talked about her parameters for choosing a character, her fan moments, and much more.
What do you prefer, the length or depth of the character?
To this, Manjari Fadnniss said that it’s the impact of the character that matters to her, and her character of Mrunal in the series has that impact on the show and gives a human touch to Mohit Raina’s character as every hard person in the world has a human side to him, he is who he is because of what happened in the past.
Your character of Meghna from Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na cannot be forgotten. Tell us about a fan moment.
To this, Manjari Fadnniss said that the film was released 15 years ago and the love she gets for the character is so interesting and overwhelming. She revealed that when the movie was released, fewer people understood the depth of the character and over the years people have understood the character better. Talking about the fan moment, she said that after entering a flight once, an air hostess gave her a handwritten note on a tissue paper where it was written how much the air hostess loved and related to her character. Manjari revealed that she still has the tissue paper saved with her. Revealing another incident, she said that once a stranger bumped into her who lived in the same society as she showed her a page on which it was written ‘What’s this?’. On turning the page she saw that this is a fan who made you smile or something like that, which was a very sweet moment. She also revealed that there are open letters written to Meghna about how they wish for Meghna to find her happiness.
Fans get to see less of your performance. What’s the reason for it and what are your parameters before choosing a character?
To this, Manjari Fadnniss said that after Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Ja she had a lot of releases, and also had some projects last year like Masoom and Miyan Biwi Aur Murder, which got a lot of love from the audiences. Apart from that she has done many projects so she would like the audiences to go and watch so that they would get to see her more. She has not disappeared but not all of her projects got the kind of promotions that some other projects got. She revealed that she is very instinctive about her projects and chooses to do whatever best she is getting. She added that she wants to work with good filmmakers, a fantastic script, and a very impactful role.
