MUMBAI: Actress Kangana Ranaut is indeed one of the most loved talents we in industry. She has been known for grabbing attention with her strong on screen roles and creating headlines for different reasons. The latest release of the actress titled Tejas has hit the digital platform Zee5 and here is what Kangana Ranaut has to say on patriotic movies and on her personal favourite genre.
Do you think patriotic content works for the audience? If yes, then why?
Kangana Ranaut says, “A film should have a certain connection, whether it is patriotic or not; it needs to resonate with people. I believe that women-centric films have always struggled. The audience, comprising 80% to 90% male viewers, makes it challenging. It has never been an easy journey for women-centric films. Nevertheless, I'm optimistic that they will receive a positive response on ZEE5 mainly Tejas”.
Which is your personal favorite genre?
Kangana Ranaut adds, “My favorite genre would be something along the lines of what I've done with 'Emergency.' It's a deeply personal story about the constitution, yet it also incorporates psychological layers—something intellectually stimulating. I prefer films that engage my mind rather than solely appealing to my senses. I don't enjoy sensational or masala films. I appreciate intelligent movies that speak to my intellect”.
