MUMBAI: Actress Naila Grrewal has been making a strong mark with her movies and series. She has been now grabbing attention as she is going to be seen in the movie Ishq Vishk rebound, but before that, right now the actress is gearing up for her series titled Maamla Legal Hai on Netflix.
During the exclusive chat session with Tellychakkar actress Naila Grrewal spoke about her series Maamla Legal Hai and also on what made her say yes for series
How will you define your character?
Naila Grrewal said, “When describing my character Ananya Shroff, I'd say she's a paradox personified. She's sharp and enigmatic, yet feels out of place in the unfamiliar setting of the Patparganj District Court. Despite being a swanky third-generation lawyer with an LLM from Harvard, she's returned to India with a desire to provide legal aid to the underprivileged. Ananya's lifestyle, like her choice of alkaline water and almond milk for lunch, contrasts with her surroundings, making her feel like a fish out of water. What truly sets her apart is her seamless transition between intellect, instinct, and boundless curiosity. She's genuine in her intentions, never looking down on those less fortunate, while navigating her place in the chaos of the Patparganj District Court. And yes, she also rocks a killer wardrobe, because who says lawyers can't slay in stilettos”
What made you say yes for the show?
Naila Grrewal adds, “What led me to accept the show was primarily the script. The characters were exceptionally well-defined, and the storyline was both juicy and exciting to delve into. Despite already being engaged in another project, when I received the script for "Maamla Legal Hai," I immediately recognized its uniqueness. I felt compelled to dive into the audition process because both Rahul Sir, the director, and Saurabh Sir, the writer, had a clear vision for Ananya Shroff's character. Their clarity and dedication to their vision instilled confidence in me, knowing that I was joining a project where the creators were deeply invested in their universe. Ultimately, it was the script's allure and charm that drew me in wholeheartedly”
How was the shooting experience and working with these amazing talents?
Naila Grrewal adds, “The shooting experience and working with the talented cast were nothing short of delightful. More often than not, it was a riot of laughter on set. Whether it was Ravi Sir's quirky one-liners that had everyone in splits or the rest of the cast, who were genuinely some of the funniest people I've ever had the pleasure of working with, every moment was infused with humour and spontaneity. The cast's ability to effortlessly turn even the smallest gestures into comedic gold was truly remarkable. Each day on set was a perfect blend of laughter and genuine connections, making it an incredibly enjoyable experience. Additionally, working with Poshampa as a production house was equally rewarding. Their unwavering dedication to our project, evident in their attention to detail in every dialogue, turn, and reaction, added to the overall quality of our work. It's truly fulfilling to collaborate with a team so deeply invested in their craft, and that's exactly what made working on this show such a memorable experience”
