Adhyayan said, “When I returned from New York film academy, I was about 135 kgs and I never wanted to be an actor. I wanted to become a director. I wanted to be an actor, but I was too overweight. I somehow managed to start losing weight and once when I was in a hair salon Ajay Devgn spotted me and he called Kumar Mangat.”
On hearing of his debut Shekar advised Adhyayan, “You are too young. You should wait a little longer. I don’t think this is the right launch for you.” Adhyayan further said, “I think I was impatient. He told me one thing ‘don’t come to me and cry.’ That’s exactly what happened. When I went to the set, I realised there were no scenes of mine. 4 scenes and 2 gaane the (4 scenes and 2 songs).” Shekhar added, “Woh dabba tha, debut nahi.”
Shekhar told Adhyayan after the latter narrated the incident on set, “Leaving your first film like this will leave a very bad impression in the industry. Any of the fathers would say ‘nikal aao.’ I should’ve told him ‘agar scene nahi hai aur tumhe dhoke se bulaya hai, dhoka matlab anjaan rakha, toh aajao.’ But I did not do that.” Adhyayan added,, “I don’t blame the makers.”
