MUMBAI: Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti wrote a heartbreaking note on the death anniversary of the actor. Shweta shared an unseen video of SSR enjoying time with his sisters on her Instagram page on Friday morning. She included a heartfelt statement in the caption, asking for justice for her brother. Shweta expressed that she feels like giving up now and "pleaded" with authorities to look into what happened on June 14, 2020.

“Bhai, it has been 4 years since you left us, and we still don’t know what transpired on June 14, 2020. Your death remains a mystery. I feel helpless and have pleaded with the authorities countless times for the truth. I’m losing my patience and feel like giving up. But today, for one last time, I want to ask everyone who can help with the case to put your hand on your heart and ask yourself: don’t we deserve to know what happened to our brother Sushant? Why has it become a political agenda? Why can’t it be as straightforward as stating what was found that day and what is believed to have happened? PLEASE, I am requesting and pleading—help us move forward as a family. Give us the closure we deserve,” she wrote.

In another Instagram post, Shweta asked if SSR deserved this injustice and wrote, “Someone who wore his heart on his sleeve—was it a fault to be so pure and loving in this cruel world? It’s been 4 years of injustice to Sushant. Does he deserve this?”

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14, 2020. While some suspected to be a case of death by suicide, others had alleged foul play. Her sister has been fighting for justice ever since.

In April of this year, Shweta initiated an online campaign to seek justice for her brother's passing. She introduced the 'Nany 4 SSR Jan Andolan' campaign. As a component of this effort, Shweta encouraged individuals to wear a red cloth on their wrist or forehead, share the video on social platforms, and appeal to authorities to give justice to the dead actor.

In March as well, Shweta released a video message, requesting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to look into the CBI investigation into her actor-brother's death. She mentioned that it has been 45 months since her brother's death, yet they have not received any new information from the investigative agency. Shweta urged that Prime Minister Modi's intervention will not only fasten the investigation but also offer relief to “howling hearts”.

“Namastey. I am Shweta Singh Kirti. I am Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister. I am recording this message for our Prime Minister Modi ji. I wanted to bring to your attention that this is the 45th month of Bhai’s passing away and we still don’t know any updates on the investigation that is being conducted by the CBI. I would highly request your intervention into the matter because as a family and as a country, we are grappling with so many answered questions in this case,” she said.
