MUMBAI: Maddock Horror Comedy Universe started with the release of Stree featuring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee Aparshakti Khurana and some more. The movie was directed by Dinesh Vijan and released in 2018.
The movie introduced the audience to the genre of horror comedy in the best way and garnered a huge amount of love from the audience. The movie also became favorite for many meme-creators online and thanks to this, there was a huge buzz for the movie even after its release.
Soon there came some more movies like Bhediya starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, Roohi starring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor and recently released Munjya starring Abhay Verma, Sharvari and Mona Singh. Munjya being the recent release from the MHCU it gave us a good hints for both Bhediya and Stree 2.
After the makers dropped the teaser of Stree 2, the audience went crazy as they got to watch Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor and also got a small glimpse of Tamannaah Bhatia. Today the makers finally dropped the trailer of the movie and it looks like everything that the audience were waiting for and a little more.
However, that’s not where it stops. Today at the trailer launch event, when director Dinesh Vijan was asked to speak a little more about Stree 2 and the MHCU, the director revealed something major about upcoming movies.
Dinesh Vijan said, “So I’ll tell you Stree 2 is like the mothership. It answers a lot of questions that Stree 1 raised. It also tells you what the connections are. What will come next after Stree 2, would be a film called Thama, which we will tell you a little bit later. We’ve already written Stree 3 so the gap would be less. One thing I can you about Stree (2) is it is bigger, madder, crazier, the trailer is only 10% because it has a lot of visual effects in it and we wanna leave that for the theatre but if you come in, it is Maddock’s most paisa-vasool film…”
Well, seems like Stree 2 is really going to be big and we are all excited for it.
