MUMBAI : A deepfake video purporting to show Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan announcing their divorce has gone viral on social media amid speculations about their potential split. The couple's relationship status has recently come up again, and this video has appeared just around that time.
The aforementioned popular video has obvious lip-syncing problems, which made online users doubt its veracity. In the shocking AI generated video someone possibly impersonating Abhishek Bachchan is heard saying, “...This July, Aishwarya and I have decided to get divorced.” The viral video is captioned as, “I do not know the authenticity of the video, whether it is true or fabricated. Until now, rumors abound day after day, and none of them have spoken out.”
Netisens were quick to notice that the voice was not of Abhishek Bachchan and that it was a deep fake video.
Although neither Abhishek Bachchan nor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have publicly acknowledged any breach, many fans believe that even if the pair led different lives, they would not file for divorce because it would be against the Bachchan family custom.
