MUMBAI: Directed by Kapil Sharma and produced by Applause Entertainment in association with Rose Audio Visual Production, the show probes into the complex and volatile relationship between two half-sisters, Juhi (played by Huma Qureshi) and Rhea (played Avantika Dassani) and their battle for revenge and retribution. Set to stream on ZEE5 this Diwali, Mithya also stars Naveen Kasturia, Rajit Kapoor, Indraneil Sengupta, Avantika Akerkar, Rushad Rana, Krishna Bisht in supporting roles.
The trailer for ‘Mithya – The Darker Chapter’ leaps viewers back into the intense psychological drama between half-sisters Juhi and Rhea. As Juhi basks in the success of her book "Dhund," her world is suddenly shaken by plagiarism accusations from a mysterious writer, Amit Chaudhary (played by Naveen Kasturia). Meanwhile, Rhea is still scheming and plotting to win her father’s love but will her quest for love and acceptance turn into a battle of revenge and manipulation? The series explores “blood versus blood” as family ties are tested, with both women resorting to dirty games of lies and deceit, crossing all lines of morality to destroy each other.
Given the psychological and emotional intensity of the show, how do you disconnect after shooting such heavy scenes?
Oh, I think I learned that working with Huma. Param and Indraneil, all of them are such wonderful actors and are very good at doing the switch on/off so I learned from them.
Also, the rapport we all shared in seasons 1 and 2 with Naveen, Rajat Sir, Avantika Maam, Krishna Anandita, and Anurita was very warm and friendly and that made it very easy for all of us to enjoy ourselves on and off-set. "
Where did you shoot for the series and what were the challenges / fond memories while shooting for this series?
Both the seasons have primarily been shot in Darjeeling and now it’s safe to say that it almost felt like a homecoming when we were going to shoot season 2. The people of Darjeeling were incredibly warm and hospitable for both our schedules. We also had a lot of new locations this season which are beautiful and amp up the atmosphere of the show! For us it also allowed us to explore more of Darjeeling while working. We have a lot of fun memories of warm bonfire nights and walks around the forest area and Mall Road! And Lots of momos. "
