MUMBAI: Actor and model Mukul Dev passed away on 23rd May at the age of 54. The actor had made his mark with his acting skills in movies across multiple languages. The actor made his TV and movie debut in 1996, first with the TV series Mumkin and then with the movie, Dastak.
After making his debut as ACP Rohit Malhotra in Dastak, where he appeared alongside Sushmita Sen, the actor made his presence with many more Hindi movies, as well as Punjabi, Bengali, Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil movies.
The actor has left a huge impact in the Punjabi cinema with movies like:
Heer and Hero
Starring Minissha Lamba, Aarya Babbar and Manoj Pahwa, the movie released in 2013.
Shareek
Starring Jimmy Sheirgill, Mahie Gill, Guggu Gill, Simar Gill, Oshin Sai, Mukul Dev, Kuljinder Singh Sidhu, Prince KJ, Hobby Dhaliwal, and Gulchoo Jolly, the Punjabi musical drama released in 2015. The actor even won the PTC – Punjabi Film Award for best actor in a negative role.
Hero: Naam Yaad Rakhi
Starring Jimmy Sheirgill and Surveen Chawla, the movie released in 2015.
Zorawar
In 2016, there came a movie starring Yo Yo Honey Singh. Yes, Mukul Dev was a pivotal part of the movie.
Saak
Starring Jobanpreet Singh and Mandy Takhar, this is a romantic drama released in 2019.
Sarabha: Cry for Freedom
There was a movie in 2019, released in English, Hindi and Punjabi. It starred Ankur Rathee, Japtej Singh and many more and it was based on the Ghadar movement. The movie showed the life struggle of Kartar Singh Sarabha, for freedom.
Interestingly, as the actor had worked even in the South Indian cinema, Mukul Dev has appeared alongside superstar Prabhas in ‘Ek Niranjan’. Even Kangana Ranaut and Sonu Sood were a pivotal part of the movie.
While he was last seen in the 2022 Hindi movie, Anth: The End, the actor’s last screen presence will be in the Hindi movie Son of Sardaar 2 and in the Telugu movie Neelaveni.
