Bhaag Milkha Bhaag shortened for its international release

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag
After mesmerizing the audience at large after its release on 12 July, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is all set for international release for which the producer- director has shortened the length of the film. The movie, inspired by Milkha Singh, has won appraisal at large by the audience and Farhan Akhtar, who has played the role of legendary Olympian in the film, is pretty contented that people have loved the film. But the only hedge, according to him, was the immoderate length of the film which is three hours and 10 minutes. During the process of reducing 30 minutes of the film to make it suitable for a no-interval format, P S Bharathi, the film’s editor, had to go through the whole footage from tip to toe to find out from where the verbal exchange could be reduced. Avers Mehra, "Bharathi and I haven't forced cuts into the narration. We wanted to bring the length down to a no-interval format, since there is no tradition of breaking a film into two halves in the West. To eliminate the interval-point for the international version, we had to re-edit the film."
