MUMBAI: Harish Ahuja, the father-in-law of Sonam Kapoor, has bought a home in Notting Hill, London. The value of the property is £21 million, or around Rs 231.47 crore, according to a Bloomberg report. After the land is redeveloped, Sonam and her husband, Anand Ahuja, are rumored to move into part of it.
The home is 20,000 square feet in size and is located close to Kensington Gardens, according to the post. According to the report, the property was “previously owned by a UK registered charity and religious order”.
The eight-story convent building was reportedly purchased by Harish in July of last year. A portion of the land will be turned into apartments, and Sonam and Anand will move in following the redevelopment.
Sonam Kapoor has been dividing her time between London and Mumbai since she got married to Anand in 2018. The couple welcomed their son, Vaayu in 2022 and often share glimpses from their life in the UK on social media. In a recent interaction with Architectural Digest, Sonam revealed that she was initially skeptical about moving from Notting Hill to her Mumbai home. However, as she is gearing to make a comeback on the big screen, she has to spend more time in Mumbai.
The actress was last appeared in the film Blind, has confirmed that she will soon be back in front of the camera. Other than the fact that filming will begin in the next year, other details are kept under wraps. Sonam stated, “I’m super excited to face the camera again post my pregnancy. I love being an actor and I love living so many interesting characters through my profession. Human beings fascinate me and I love playing varied roles. I’m looking forward to my next.”
“I will return to the sets early next year. Details of this project are currently getting locked so I won’t be able to talk at length till the announcement is made. It’s a big project. That’s all I can say right now,” she added.
Sonam last appeared in the 2023 crime-thriller 'Blind,' which is an adaptation of the same-titled Korean film of 2011. Produced by Sujoy Ghosh and directed by Shome Makhija, the movie was Sonam's return to the big screen after a six-year hiatus after 'The Zoya Factor.'
