Many small town girls will identify with Shikha and her demure persona - Aishwarya Sakhuja

Aishwarya Sakhuja is taking the initial low numbers of her new Sony Entertainment Television show Main Naa Bhoolungi in her stride. “We always knew that our story is such that it will take time to pick up. Even if I was a general TV watcher, I would say this is not the normal saas bahu stuff and might have got edgy to change the channel. However I hope that the intrigue around the plot will eventually get them back. My previous long running show Saas Bina Sasural again on Sony was also not your family drama staple, yet it had its share of melodrama. This Beyond Dreams co-production has none. Also we have logistical issues of shooting at several places which needs to be sorted out.” Here Aishwarya admits, “Agreed such a story line is risky, for things might go down ratings wise, but I am happy for I am getting a chance to do something meaty.” Describing her character, Aishwarya says, “Shikha has many shades. While she lacks in confidence level, she still has the gumption to challenge her stalker. It was a big challenge to appear on screen with limited make-up and ordinary clothes. I have to under-play basically, for I am a very confident person personally. Living alone in Mumbai for years does open you up. I am sure many small town girls will identify with Shikha and her demure persona.” In closing, she refused to comment whether some time down the road her character will undergo an image makeover and become a babe. “If I unravel the story now, it will be unfair to the hard work our writers and producers have put in. Why don’t you find for yourself?” Rightly said, Aishwarya!!!
