Ankit Tiwari arrested for rape, lawyer says his client being framed

We had touched base with the girl but she denied reports of any complaint and in fact went on record to state that there is no complaint at all. Today, in the morning, Versova police arrested Ankit and his brother on charges of rape. According to reports, the girl in her statement given to the police said that she was raped by Ankit while Ankur threatened her at knife point. Ankit's lawyer, Nagesh Mishra whom we spoke to, however denied all the charges levelled against the accused. "It's a trumped up charge levelled against my clients by their rivals. Both Tiwari brothers had become famous after the success of Aashiqui 2 and this is a game plan used to destroy their careers," said Nagesh before rushing off to the court where Ankit and his brother are being produced.
