MUMBAI: An actress Meena Sagar requires no introduction. She gained recognition for her roles in movies such as Muthu, Annaatthe, and the Drishyam series, to mention a few. However, the actress has taken a long break from the big screen. The abrupt death of her husband, Vidyasagar, a software engineer, on June 28, 2022, is the cause.

Meena is infuriated about rumors of her second marriage and is slowly getting over her devastating loss. The actress recently provided an honest response to the circulating rumors about her second marriage, which is now attracting a lot of attention.

In a recent media interaction, the actress said, “Such baseless rumours have made me sad and my family members. The media should stop publishing information without verifying any news.”

She said, “I have no thoughts of a second marriage now. No one should pay attention to the rumours regarding it.”

She added that she is currently focusing on her career. Meena further said she is right now busy with acting in one Tamil and one Malayalam film. Apart from this, she is also working on a web series.

However, this isn't the first time; the actress was previously in the news for rumors of a second marriage. Social media has been the source of these rumors ever since her husband passed away.

As stated in reports, Meena was being pressured by her family to go for a second marriage for a secured future for her daughter Nainaka. It was also speculated that Meena’s family had finalized her marriage with a groom who is one of her family friends. But later, Meena clarified and ended the rumors regarding her second marriage.

Meena has acted in Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada movies. She is one of the most sought-after actresses in the South Indian film industry. Meena started her professional career in 1982 as a child performer in Sivaji Ganesan's film Nenjangal. Later, she played the lead role alongside Rajendra Prasad in the film Navayugam in 1990.

However, it was her role opposite Rajkiran in the 1991 film En Rasavin Manasile that gave her a major break. Her most recent appearance was in Prithviraj Sukumaran's comedy-drama Bro Daddy in Malayalam.
