MUMBAI: Well known veteran actor Sarath Babu who has been part of films like Annayya, Muthu, Sravanthi, among others has been admitted to the AIG hospital in Hyderabad. The 71 year old has been on the ventilator and is undergoing treatment for multiple organ failure. He was brought from Bengaluru to Hyderabad on 20th April.

As per sources, Sarath Babu suffered from sepsis, which has impacted functioning of his kidneys, lungs, liver as well as other organs and is in a critical condition. Sarath Babu whose real name is Satyam Babu Dixithulu has been hospitalized for the second time this week. The actor was previously hospitalized in Chennai.
Sarath began his acting career with Telugu cinema in 1973. Apart from Telugu and Tamil films, the veteran actor has also been a part of a few Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi films. Sarath has won the Nandi awards nine times for best acting in supporting roles.

Sarath reportedly wanted to be a police officer but couldn’t realize his dream because of an eye-sight problem. His father wanted him to join his business but Sarath wanted to be an actor and with the support from his mother he began his acting career.
