MUMBAI: On Friday night, March 29, the actor Daniel Balaji from Tamil Nadu died unexpectedly. He had a heart attack and went to a private hospital in Chennai, where he died. Balaji's last rites will be held today and he was 48 years old.

The news of Daniel Balaji’s sudden death has shocked fans and others. Director Mohan Raja paid tribute to Balaji via his X handle and wrote, “Such a Sad news. He Was an inspiration for me to join film institute. A very good friend. Miss working with him. May his soul rest in peace.”

One of the fans expressed grief at Balaji’s sudden demise and called him “the greatest villain of Tamil Cinema and one of the finest actors of Indian Cinema.”

In the Tamil film industry, Daniel Balaji debuted as an actor in April Madhathil (2022). However, his popularity rose with Gautham Menon and Suriya-Jyotika's Kaakha Kaakha. Later on, he made appearances in several other Tamil films, such as Polladhavan and Vidhi Madhi Ultaa. Additionally, he acted in Dhanush's Vada Chennai, Vijay's Bigil, and Thalapathy Vijay's Bairavaa.
Balaji is well-known in the Tamil cinema business, but he has also appeared in a few Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada productions.
