Vaathi: From ‘average’ to ‘looks promising’; trailer of Dhanush starrer gets a mixed response

MUMBAI:Dhanush is one of the biggest names in the Tamil film industry, and moviegoers always look forward to his movies. Last year, he was seen in movies like Maaran, Thiruchitrambalam, and Naane Varuvean. While Maaran was an OTT release, Thiruchitrambalam left a mark at the box office.

Dhanush's first release this year will be Vaathi which is directed by Venky Atluri and also stars Samyuktha in the lead roles. It’s actually a Tamil-Telugu bilingual film, and will be released in Telugu as Sir.

Today, the trailer of Vaathi has been released, and Dhanush is as usual amazing in it. The movie looks like a masala entertainer with a social message in it. However, netizens have given a mixed response to the trailer.

A netizen tweeted, “Blockbuster on the way!”  Another Twitter user wrote, “Looks promising Dhanush Gvp sambavam.” One more netizen wrote, “Avg trailer.” Check out the tweets below.

Vaathi was earlier slated to release on 2nd December 2022. But, later it was pushed to 17th February 2023.

Director Venky Atluri has earlier directed movies like Tholi Prema (Telugu), Mr. Majnu (Telugu), and Rang De (Telugu). Vaathi/Sir is his first Tamil and Telugu bilingual. Well, it will be interesting to see what response Vaathi will get at the box office.

Apart from Vaathi, Dhanush has Captain Miller lined up and his fans are also excited about it
