MUMBAI: The popular Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda has been candid about his salary, admitting that he was paid "peanuts" until his most recent film Kushi, which co-starred Samantha Ruth Prabhu. He only recently began accepting his market price. In an interview with the media during the promotional event for his new movie The Family Star, Vijay was open about why wealth should be a secondary concern for "outsiders."
“I am a star, but I started to see little money only recently, around Kushi. As an outsider, one shouldn’t think about money at first. One should worry about cementing his style, and performances; my work in the films should speak first. Outside, a lot is said about how much I am earning and all that. I earned peanuts till Kushi. Only after that film, I started taking my market price,” Vijay was quoted as saying by the popular news portal.
When asked what his current market price is, Vijay Deverakonda said, “It is a comfortable market price.” Before he could finish his answer, producer Dil Raju interjected and said, “He discussed with the producer and said whatever will make all of us profitable will be the market price. As he had discussed all this with us, we are collaborating on two more projects.”
Vijay was also questioned about his plans for his wedding at the same event. The actor stated that he wants to one day get married. It is rumored that he is in a relationship with Rashmika Mandanna.
Vijay said, “I also want to get married and become a father.” In addition, the actor declared that he will have a “love marriage”. Additionally, he made it clear that his parents would approve of his future wife.
The alleged couple's trip to the Maldives earlier this year fueled rumors that they would soon declare their marriage. Additionally, it was rumored that Vijay and Rashmika would shortly get engaged. The Liger actor refuted the rumors.
