MUMBAI: Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda are two of the most popular actors in India. Of late, the two had been making headlines over their rumoured engagement. While there has been a buzz about a romance between the two, the actors have never admitted to it.
The two have starred together in the hit films 'Geeta Govindam' (2018) and 'Dear Comrade' (2019). Their chemistry onscreen was lauded by the audience. In a recent interview, Rashmika got candid about her equation with Vijay.
In conversation with 'We Are Yuvaa', actress Rashmika Mandanna spoke abut her co-stars Amitabh Bachchan, Sidharth Malhotra, Ranbir Kapoor and Allu Arjun. But it was her words for Vijay Deverakonda who she refers to as 'Viju' that had our attention."Viju and I sort of grew up together. So anything I do in my life right now, he has a contribution to it," she said.
She further said that she needs his opinion on everything. "I take his advice in anything I do, I need his opinion. He's not a yes person. He's on point. This is good…this is not good…this is what I think…this is what I don't think. He has supported me personally more than anyone else in my entire life. So, I feel he's someone I really, really respect," she added.
The year began with strong rumours of Vijay and Rashmika planning an engagement in February. Vijay was quick to dismiss it when he was asked about the same in an interview with Lifestyle Asia. Putting an end his engagement rumours in the media, Deverakonda said, "I'm not getting engaged or married in February. It feels like the press wants to get me married every two years. I hear this rumour every year. They're just walking around waiting to catch me and get me married".
In a report in Hindustan Times, quoting a source, the publication wrote, "Well, there is no truth in all such claims. They are very private people. They have not gone public with their romance till now, leaving behind some hints that make people wonder about their bond. The claim about them going for a big revelation and getting engaged is fake because that is so unlike their personalities."
