Salman Khan shows his chivalrous side again

This happened in Ahmedabad on Sunday when Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif landed there with the express purpose interacting with fans and the press. Salman who has been constantly showing his protective side towards Katrina Kaif in all their public interactions regarding their new film, this time went many steps further. On Sunday when Salman landed at Ahmedabad for the first time in his entire career, all hell broke loose. The crowd was so large and seemingly unmanageable that the star thought it best to turn back and return to Mumbai. And Salman was not concerned for himself but Katrina.

Ek Tha Tiger would be first Bollywood film to release on a Wednesday worldwide

Yash Raj Films’ Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-starrer Ek Tha Tiger that will release on 15 August 2012 will be the first film that would release on a Wednesday, not only in India, but also overseas. Confirmed Yash Raj, Vice President, International Operations Avtar Panesar, “We are looking at a simultaneous release in all major markets [on Wednesday], while markets like Turkey and Japan would be explored in the second phase.”

No plans of screening film for RAW agent's family

Yashraj Films won’t screen the new Salman Khan starrer Ek Tha Tiger for the family of the former RAW agent Ravindra Kaushik. The family of the deceased agent has sent the makers of <em>Ek Tha Tiger</em> a legal notice asking for a screening of the film. However, a decision has been taken by the production house and director Kabir Khan to keep the film and its content away from public domain. Kabir Khan proclaims, “I read about him in the papers. This is the first time I’ve heard of him. It’s an interesting story. But it’s not the story of my film.”

Ek Tha Tiger in legal tangle

It’s not even a month for YRF’s Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger to release and the film has mired into a legal hassle. Vikram Vashishtha, nephew of martyr and real life spy Ravindra Kaushik, has sent a legal notice to Yash Raj films, and copies of that notice to the film producers, Central Board of Film Certification, Film & TV Producers Guild and Film Federation of India asking for a special screening or sharing the original screenplay.

Katrina gets more dangerous than Aamir

Cutting short her planned family holiday in London with her mom and sisters, Katrina flew back to Mumbai on Tuesday to practice for some additional action sequences in <em>Dhoom 3</em>. Pak govt bans airing of Ek Tha Tiger promos

The Pakistan government has restrained its cable operators from screening promos and reviews of the upcoming Yash Raj Films’ Salman Khan-starrer <em>Ek Tha Tiger</em>, saying that the film is aimed at tarnishing the image of the ISI. A letter issued by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PERMA), country's media regulatory watchdog, to all satellite TV channels and cable networks last week said <em>Ek Tha Tiger</em>, set for world release on 15 August, is “reportedly based on the activities of ISI and RAW.”

Industry upset with Salman Khan's "health precautions"

Yesterday’s (25 June 2012) report that Salman Khan has been advised to stay off action sequences due to his neurological condition has upset the industry. The advice comes at a time when most of Salman’s films namely Dabangg 2, Ek Tha Tiger or the upcoming Sohail Khan film Sher Khan are all action-oriented.

Release of 3D Sholay delayed

Everyone knew that the late G P Sippy’s magnum opus Sholay will release in its 3D avatar on 15 August 2012. However, it is learnt that the film’s release has been postponed due to unforeseen reasons. But, said a source, who is closely associated with the flick, “The changed date hasn’t been fixed yet. Earlier, the distributor and financer Jayantilal Gada was okay with the release of the 3D version at the same time as Salman Khan-starrer <em>Ek Tha Tiger</em> produced by YRF.”

Roshan Seth returns to the big screen with Ek Tha Tiger

He is 70 and still going very strong. The last time the inimitable Roshan Seth, still remembered best for his role as Nehru in Attenborough’s <em>Gandhi</em>, was seen in a Hindi film was in a brief cameo in Mani Ratnam’s <em>Guru</em> 6 years ago. Roshan Seth now returns in Kabir Khan’s <em>Ek Tha Tiger</em> as Salman’s mentor and guide. Says a source close to the project, “Roshan Seth has lately been doing very little acting work, and by choice. Besides <em>Guru</em> he has not done a single Hindi film in ages, and certainly not a mainstream commercial film.”
