Indrani Haldar
Rabindranath Tagore was born on 7 May 1861. He was a Bengali who went on to become a legend by the beauty of what he inked and his contribution to the freedom struggle of India against the British. Rabindranath was a rare man of different merits. He was a novelist, dramatist, artiste, essayist, music composer, philosopher, academic, linguist and social reformer. The versatile personality throughout his life enriched Bangla literature through his writings. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913 for his English version of Gitanjali.
