A meaty role is all that matters to a true artiste. But there are times when actors of enormous caliber too have to give in to roles like standing in the crowd. But, it’s just a matter of time till they get back. Ashiesh Roy who is currently seen as Chatur Sen in SAB TV’s <em>Jeannie Aur Juju</em> belongs to the same league of actors. He was earlier seen in Colors’ <em>Sasural Simar Ka</em>, but the actor did not blink his eyelid before saying a ‘yes’ to his current role in the SAB TV show. Reason? He wasn’t very happy with the way his role unfolded in <em>Sasural</em>.

Petite and gorgeous Giaa Maanek, who became a household name as Gopi from her last show for Star Plus (<em>Saath Nibhana Saathiya</em>) and was later seen in Colors’ reality show <em>Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa</em>, is a very hard working woman who doesn’t take her job for granted. We got in touch with this lovely lady who is currently seen as Jeannie in SAB TV’s <em>Jeannie aur Juju</em> and asked her about her character in the show. “It’s fun to play Jeannie’s character. After playing the role of Gopi who was very innocent and a typical bahu, I am now playing an out and out brat.”

The project is produced by Eagle Films headed by Rajiv Mehra.

Jhumma Mitra, who plays Durga Sen in Jeannie Aur Juju on SAB TV, is super happy as she is celebrating her birthday today (5 January 2013). Shares Jhumma, “Usually on my birthday, I distribute clothes to an orphanage, and I did exactly the same during last diwali. I will worship Sai Baba and thank the lord for everything that he has given me. Yesterday, I met ace numerologist Sanjay Jumani who was instrumental in changing the spelling of my name for better prospects. Later had dinner with my close friends.”

Shared Ashiesh, “Jhumma, my co-star, and I had only one day off from the shooting and when Jhumma suggested that ‘we seek the blessings of Maa Durga for our new show,’ I readily agreed.”

Here’s some news from the house of SAB TV. Well…the channel is up for some programming change. Its high profile show <em>Baal Veer</em> has already hit the screens yesterday (8 October 2012) and the latest we have learnt is that the broadcaster has decided to allot 9.30 pm slot to Giaa Maanek’s upcoming show <em>Jeannie Aur Juju</em>. A credible source who chose to remain anonymous said that the show is all set to go on air by end of this month (October 2012). So what does it mean for the current 9.30pm slot owner <em>R K Laxman Ki Duniya</em>? Will it draw curtains?
