TellyChakkar.com got in touch with the young casting director Salman Khan who has been a part of the industry since a while now. Salman has many hit projects to his credit some of which are Balaji Telefilms’ Chandrakanta, Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki,  Chandranandini, Kundali Bhagya among others.

When asked by a young lad about his journey in the profession, he said, “After completing my HSC, I wanted to work in the entertainment industry. I found casting a very challenging profession and hence I started looking for opportunities in the same field. I started my casting career with episodes of crime and youth shows. Eventually, I got the opportunity to cast for daily soap Waris for &TV”.

We asked him about the difficulties in the field, he said, “I haven’t faced many as such. I am expert in scouting new born babies to old age faces. Having said that, I believe that the difficult times for casting directors have started post lockdown as it becomes difficult to negotiate with the artists in the budget that the production house’s are providing”.

On getting recognition in the industry, Salman added, “Yes, casting directors get proper recognition in industry after doing outstanding casting on a bigger scale or by casting any project which gets popular”.
