#HappyGrandparentsDay: TV stars share their favourite 'grandparent' memory!

The bond between grandparents and grandchildren is something special that many of us cherish throughout the life. They are the loving pillars of comfort and support many of us, and to honor them, Grandparents’ Day is celebrated all over the world.

On the special occasion, TV actors speak about their bond and memories with their grandparents. Take a look…

Shrenu Parikh

I put my grandparents before my parents because they brought me up. I have been lucky to get their love and values. If I am a better person today, it's because of them and their upbringing. They are no more and I miss them a lot. Never got a chance to thank them, but I love them.

Hiba Nawab

My grandpa used to pick me up from school and we used to talk a lot. He always used to treat me with chocolates and snacks.

Mohsin Khan

My bond with my grandparents is superb. I went on a pilgrimage with my grandfather a couple of years back. He taught me so much about our religion. If I face a problem ever, he’s there to guide me.

Pranali Ghogare

I have spent my childhood with my grandparents. My brother was very naughty so it was very difficult for my mom to take care of both at the same time. My Granny is a wall. If my parents said no for anything, I would purposely ask my granny for the same. They taught me about God and his selfless love for all.

Monica Khanna

I had a great bond with my nani and dada. But unfortunately, they are not with me now. I remember how my nani used to teach me to be brave. One day, she actually made me slap a guy in front of the whole bazaar because he was passing some comment! My dada was always a happy person, whenever I used to do something good, he used to give me toffees.

Pooja Singh

I don’t remember my grandpa because I was too young when he passed away. But I have many memories with my nani. I called her ‘maa’. She used to be bit strict, but I played with her a lot. In the year 2000, I lost her. She was an amazing cook.

Kanchi Singh

I had made my first card for my grandparents when I was four. My grandpa was very special, but I lost him when I was five.

Digangana Suryavanshi

My grandparents are like God to me. I love my maternal grandma more than I love myself. They are extremely important to me.

Yashashri Masurkar

I never had an opportunity to spend time with my grandparents, but I have always imagined how they must have been from the stories I have heard from my parents.

Himmanshoo Malhotra

I remember my grandpa holding me on his shoulders and repeating this line when I was really young, may be four and five years old, ‘padoge likhogey toh banogey nawab, kheloge koodogey toh banogey kharaab’. This memory continues to remain etched in my heart till today.

Anjum Fakih

My maternal grandparents were very strict. I remember my nanaji used to wake me up for morning prayers. Most of the duas and aayats from the holy Quran were taught by him. Both nani and nanaji were my all-time favourite. The amount of love I got from dadi is something I can’t even express. It’s been a decade since I met her, I am definitely going to pay her a visit soon.

Ruhana Khanna

Grandparents are the roots of a family. I am so lucky to have them in my life. My nani is my friend, strength and confidence. She used to feed me and play with me, and make me feel comfortable all the time. I guess I love my nani more than my mom. Thank you, nani, for everything.

Rishina Kandhari

I was my grandmother’s favorite child amongst all the cousins. Every weekend, my cousins and I would go to my grandmother’s house, but I was the one who’d sleep next to her on her bed. It was her wish that I should become an actor. I love my grandmother the most and always wish that wherever she's today, she is blessing me as always.

Aishwarya Sakhuja

I never got to really see my paternal grandparents because my dadaji expired before my parents got married and my dadiji expired when I was a year old. Whereas my maternal grandparents and their house was where I felt the most secure and loved.  I remember every time I would enter my grandparents’ house I could smellaloo ka paranthas being prepared as my granny knew I loved hogging on them. The kind of love I got from them is unexplainable. It's sad that they are no longer with us now.

Simran Pareenja

It’s a blessing when you have grandparents around. My dadaji was sitting on the chair and I pulled the chair, he fell down. He didn’t utter a word and started laughing. My nani always kept an eye on me so that I grew up to be a very responsible person.

Teary-eyed, yet? Do share with us your favorite tale about your grandparents!
