One of the landmark shows ever to be made, How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM), continues to remain a hit in popular culture despite wrapping up a while back.

From the adventures of the friends at their regular pub to their troubles picking up dates, the nine seasons gave us a glimpse of everyday life. What if the show was remade with a desi cast? 

Here are the Indian TV stars who can give takkar to their firang counterparts…read on: 

Gautam Gulati as Ted Mosby: 

The ‘hero’ with the most number of adventures or should we say disastrous dates with the lady can be played well by GG. He has the looks, the comic timing and the body language to take on the popular character. What do you guys think?

Barun Sobti- Sanaya Irani as Lily and Marshall: 

The lovable pair from the show can easily be replaced by our very own Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani, no? The Indian reel jodi is famous for its enviable chemistry, much like Lilypad and Marshmallow! 

Mandana Karimi as Robin: 

Just like Robin is Canadian hanging out with a bunch of Americans, Mandana is Iranian, who could totally gel with her Indian friends. She and Gautam would make a striking pair too. Much like Robin, Mandana is a pretty face who can millions of viewers glued to the screens. 

Mouni Roy as The Mother: 

One of the most anticipated characters of the show was the mother, who and Ted share almost every quality…they also shared a home and two kids. We are quite confident that Gautam and Mouni would be able to pull off this bit with ease. Also, it would make for a fresh pairing on TV! 

Kapil Sharma as Barney: 

The funniest guy of the gang can only be recreated by Kapil, who’s a master of one-liners and wit. We are pretty sure that Kapil’s lines will become legen…wait for it…dary in Indian context too.
