Life is blissful if it is always a bed of roses!! But alas!! This is just a thought as we live amidst a heap of problems and see before our eyes, lot many people reeling under the pressure of various kinds of problems which have boomeranged with time to become huge social hazards or issues!!

So let us take some time out to identify the various social issues that affect mankind. And also here is Tellychakkar.com getting in touch with few of the popular TV celebrities to know what are the kind of ‘Social Causes’ they would like to undertake.

So here we go…

Ashish Sharma, who portrays the larger than life role of Lord Ram in Star Plus’ Siya Ke Ram: One thing that is easily overlooked is the environment, which is extremely vital for us. Water conservation is one such issue. Rains are getting lesser by the day; the water table is depleting drastically and we just don’t care about this. We have to understand that we are living on the edge and we will be in grave problem if we don’t realize the importance of it. I believe that people should be made aware of this huge problem. I also feel that awareness and implementation need to go hand in hand.

Siddharth Arora, the lead of Zee TV’s Meri Saasu Maa: I am associated with couple of institutes in my hometown, Varanasi. One is the Blind School for Kids while the other is an Old Age Home. I always make it a point to celebrate my birthdays with the under-privileged kids. I make it a point to visit them especially during festivals. I see to it that I provide basic necessities like food, dresses, and other commodities.

Ssharad Malhotra, the lead of Colors’ Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki: We live in a society wherein we have so many problems to address in order to give a happy life for people around us. Love, care and better facilities need to be provided for under-privileged children and I will want to do it whenever I have free time. Also, I will want to help and care for people troubled with leprosy and cancer. There is also a need to construct clean and hygienic toilets on road sides, especially for women.

Mohammad Nazim of Star Plus’ Saathiya: I feel the most when people struggle to get emotional support from people around them. We all need unconditional emotional support where we can truly be ourselves and are not judged at all times. I whole-heartedly support the cause of emotional support as everyone needs it.

Jaya Bhattacharya, seen in Colors’ Thapki Pyar Ki: See, I don’t know what exactly can be labelled as Social Cause. Whatsoever/whoever I feel for, I do. Firstly, I don’t diversify between humans and animals. My understanding comes from my own experiences. Earlier in my life, when I suffered and accident, there was only one lady who came to me to offer help, while others on the road kept staring. So the basic thing here is, I received help and I felt I need to help others too. I used to be shit-scared about dogs. Later, I made friends with them, or rather the dogs made friends with me, and I started understanding the world of animals. Human tendency when helped is in to expect for more help. In the case of animals, they are happy to receive whatever they do, and I try to provide whatever I can. This is the understanding I have with animals. It’s my wish to love them, and I love them. They wish to wag their tails at me, and they do it. There is no bank balance, where there is no weightage of who did how much. I believe that I earn to do this and I care for all the animals.

Rubina Dilaik, lead of Colors’ Shakti: I am associated with the charity events that happen every year to raise funds for Shankara Eye Foundation, which is based out in San Francisco and California. My mom always used to tell me that I should make it a policy to donate one tenth of the portion of my earnings to the needy. The funds raised annually through the fashion shows conducted aid in free eye surgeries for the poor. Also, the Eye Hospital based abroad also help hospitals in India by providing them with surgical equipments, accommodation for patients etc.

Tinaa Dattaa, popularly known for her lead role in Colors’ Uttaran: I feel for the old people as well as the children being raised on the roads. Something must be done to eradicate such problems. I just cannot see kids begging on the roads. Also, old people need to be taken care of, especially when their health has taken a toll. I fail to understand the mentality of youngsters of excluding their aged parents from their happiness and love. I don’t like it when I see the old ones being abandoned by their own people.

Very nice thoughts, indeed!! What are the social causes you will like to work on? Drop in your comments here…
