World No Tobacco Day: Actors appeal to kick the butt
Smoke smoke smoke that cigarette – puff puff puff…Until you puff yourself to death, then tell St. Peter at the golden gate that he will have to wait…Cause you Gotta have another cigarette! Remember the famous Hank Thompson song? Well, every year, on 31 May, World Health Organisation and partners mark World No Tobacco Day, highlighting the health risks associated with tobacco use and advocating for effective policies to reduce tobacco consumption. Tobacco kills nearly six million people each year, of which more than 600 000 are non-smokers dying from breathing second-hand smoke. Your favourite TV celebs also join in to tell no to tobacco. Harshad Arora: Smoking is very harmful and we all are aware of the fact. Still there are people, especially teenagers who resort to smoking. I think our conscious should tell us to quit smoking as it is unhealthy. Gautam Rode: For me every day is a No Tobacco Day. I would love it if people would be more health conscious and quit drinking, smoking and consuming all types of tobacco. I love the people of our country and they need to be in good health and such habits should be avoided. Harshita Gaur: I would just like to say that if you love yourself, don’t kill yourself. I don’t think people would harm themselves by consuming tobacco if they care for their body and life. Kratika Sengar: I would like to request people to stop smoking. Passive smoking is also equally injurious and I would like to appeal to people to pay more attention to their health and the people around them. God has given us such a beautiful life and we should enjoy it rather than indulging in vices. Nia Sharma: Everyone should avoid indulging in smoking or consuming tobacco. Like No Tobacco Day, we should celebrate a No Tobacco Year. Preetika Rao: I do not smoke nor do I encourage people smoking. It is harmful and anything which affects health should not be used or abused. Not just a day, people should stay away from consumption of tobacco for life. Mohit Sehgal: I would like to appeal to people to stop smoking as it is extremely harmful for health. Today, we have electric cigarettes and herbal chewing gums which can help people quit smoking. I think people addicted to tobacco should take help. On the whole, stopping consumption of tobacco requires will power and it is very necessary for good health. Stop smoking as it kills. Arjun Bijlani: People should not subject themselves to consuming tobacco as it is very harmful for health. It not only affects you but also the people around you. So I would like to request people to stop smoking.
