Veteran Gujarati theatre actress, Sujata Mehta who plays Nimmo's mother in Star One's Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka is not visible in the current tracks of the show. We inquired with this beautiful lady who was just back from a 11 day pilgrimage to Amarnath.
"My character started on a good note, but thereafter lost it's charm. So I told the production team that I wanted a better role. Now after returning from Amarnath, they have not got back to me. I am not blaming anybody in particular but I have already made a commitment of 20 days a month to them. What about that? The only thing I was informed about is that the story line is focusing on Nimmo's in-laws," says Sujata who wants to take up new roles which support a social cause, be it plays or television.
The actor is also planning a feature film which will be based on a super-hit Gujarati play, Chitkaar, where she portrayed the protagonist who goes insane.
Here's hoping this lovely lady gets back in action soon.
That's the exit door!
Replacement and abstraction of characters make a show newsy but for some serials it has somewhat become a routine affair.
We are talking about Balaji's Kahiin To Hoga, which has a track record of oustering out many actors. It first started with Rajeev Khandelwal aka Sujal's decision to opt out of the show, which saw a major nose-dive in it's TRPs. Later actor Eijaz Khan bowed out due to his Kaavyanjali commitment and was replaced by Manish Sighania. Urvashi Dholakia, who played Archie, was sidelined as her track wasn't required, Surveen Chawla (Charu) was bumped off as it was speculated that her popularity was bothering Aamna Shariff (Kashish). Poonam Joshi who played Mahek chickened out as she bagged a lead in Zee' Tumhari Disha. And the latest loss was the recent murder of Tinnu Anand (Mr. Alhuwalia). Phew! That was quiet a list.
Ab kiska number aayega?
Mansi's teething troubles!
Mansi Verma is in a jobless mode for now and is also on her way to fitness but the actor recently had a tooth operation post which she was advised not to talk almost for a week.
Apparently her wisdom tooth was protruding in an abnormal fashion which was beginning to get painful for the actor.
"I had an operation last week as my wisdom tooth was in right alignment so before it could come out in bad shape I got it extracted. I had stitches in my gums but since I was on local anesthesia I was fine. I couldn't open my mouth fully and was on a liquid diet for that week and was speaking less," says Mansi Verma who is eager to take up new roles.
Here's hoping we get to see the actor flashing her white pearlies once again…!
Shall we dance?
The air is thickening with the buzz about celeb couples being short listed for the second season of Nach Baliye. While there are some who have already given a nod, a few couples had to decline this exciting offer; reason being, a refusal by their better half.
We are talking about two duos, Rinku - Kiran Karmarkar and Renuka Shahane - Ashutosh Rana. The co-incidence here is that the female counterparts are game, while the men are killjoy!
"We are not doing Nach Baliye as Ranaji is very busy with his outdoor film schedules. Thus, it is not possible to do this dance show, which requires five months of our commitment. But I would have loved to be a part of it," smiles Renuka, who is busy penning a script besides looking after her kids.
This is Rinku Karmarkar version: "Kiran is not interested in doing the show but I want to! The other day I was joking with my colleague, Ali Asgar, that maybe we should participate as a couple since we are really interested while our partners are not."
Oh, come on guys, be a sport!
