How did you bag this show?
There isn’t any interesting story behind bagging the show. I was auditioning for roles and got a call from the casting director about this show that was in making. I was just wrapping up the shoot of the web show that I was doing. I was free, so I thought of giving an audition for this show. I went through 3 to 4 rounds of audition and I think it all worked out in my favour. There was a look test and I also had to audition with 4 other boys. It was very new for me as I have never done an audition like this before.
Do you find any similarities between you and your character Purvi?
I think a lot of things are similar between me and Purvi. She wears her heart on her sleeve and I do the same. Purvi is very impulsive sometimes and I am also like that a lot of times. Purvi loves food and she is very talkative. I won't say I am completely her. I can relate to her on a lot of levels. She is very crazy about this one boy who she is in love with. My take on love is slightly different from Purvi's.
After working in a theatre and then working in a web and now a TV show, how has been the experience? Did you find any difference working in three different mediums?
Of course, the way you act changes with the change in the medium. I have not done a lot of theatre but some. But when it comes to theatre, you need to project a lot. But when you are in front of the camera, it is so close to you, your projection might not work. So, the way you act, you need to emote some changes due to the change in the platform. However, the essence of it still remains the same.
I don't have any favourite medium as I have started acting just a year ago. I am very new to the system. I have enjoyed everything that I have done so far. I am really enjoying television as I feel there is so much to learn.
Well said, Ismeet!
