Sumeet Sachdev aka Gomzy of Kyunki…is back. Yes, he did a stint in Karam Apnaa Apnaa, but this time around he'll be seen in a full-fledged pivotal role. The show in question is the Balaji latest daily, Khwaish, to be aired on Sony. In this love story revolving around two Muslim families settled in Dubai, Sumeet will be seen portraying the character of Kabir Khan - a dashing young man who's the most responsible and caring eldest son. As fate would have it, Afreen (Priya Bathija, a new find) and Kabir meet, fall in love and get married. The show, which is already being aired in Pakistan, will be telecast in India mid-July. Sumeet is obviously happy and excited with the turn of events. "I took this role as it excited me and was different," says Sachdev who refrained from the small screen for a quite some time as he believes in piece of mind rather than toiling for long hours. Initially Sachdev found it difficult to cope up with the show due to the language barrier, "I was supposed to speak Urdu as it's a Pakistani show. The pronunciation was little difficult, but I managed." The shooting was canned in the aesthetic desert city of Dubai. In fact Sumeet finds life over there quite cool compared to Mumbai, "Here we are bogged down by responsibilities and stress, while in Dubai all care is taken care of. You simply have to go and shoot. There is no tension of meeting people or getting stuck in traffic," he quotes. Though the actor isn't doing too many shows, he is yet content with what's on his plate. "I don't believe in racing. I believe in the phrase, 'In a rat race if you come first you'll remain a rat.' I don't like stressing myself. While shooting for Kyunki… during the initial one and a half years, I felt as if I have lived for five years! So I opted for more relaxed life by keeping low," he clarifies. Like all Balaji actors, Sumeet too had been approached by various production houses, but he chose to be loyal. He explains, "Life with Balaji is convenient. There is no other production house that has offered me a role that's out of the world." Seems he wants to stick with the ruling star. And how can Sumeet be away from his maiden show for long? Yes, he will soon be seen in Kyunki…... "I am happy to be back on my show," he says with excitement in his voice. He's also charged up about his next much awaited and talked about Balaji show, Karbon Kopy. "The shooting is all most complete but due to some hitch the show is not aired yet." Besides Sachdev, KK also stars Karan Grover, Shubha Verma and Yash Tonk. As for now Sumeet is happy doing the two dailies on television, "I believe in enjoying my work." Talk about slow and steady winning the race!
