Samrat helps me fall in love with my hubby in real life: Neha Marda

Neha Marda
It’s always a joyous occasion for fans when a pretty actress makes a comeback on the small screen; it indeed brings a smile on their faces. Identical is the experience in Neha Marda’s case. Post her marriage, the pretty actress had gone missing from the small screen for quite some time but she is back with Zee TV’s Doli Armaanon Ki (Spellbound Productions). And it wouldn’t be wrong to say that even after being associated with the industry for almost a decade, the actress manages to get in the air of freshness of a newcomer whenever she appears on the screen. To find out more of this enchanting lady, we at Tellychakkar.com got in a conversation with her: Excerpts. How has your comeback been so far? (Smiles) Since I got back after a two-year hiatus, the first month on the sets was hectic for me. I was still getting used to the work schedule post my marriage break. Trust me I was enjoying being at home with my husband but then since I love acting I was eagerly waiting to get back on screen. Do you get time to meet your husband? (Pauses) I’ve been missing him a lot. I feel human needs are never satisfied. I had no regrets of staying back home post seven years of work but then I missed acting in this two-year break. And now that I am back, I miss my husband (Ayushman Agarwal, a businessman from Patna). He comes down to Mumbai (from Patna) every 10 to 15 days while I go there twice a month for three to four days at a stretch. This helps me cut down the distance though I don’t get to meet him every evening. I feel one has to adjust a bit in life to fulfill his/her dreams and I am doing my bit. You always look so beautiful. How do you manage to stay so fit? I have heard a couple of people say that I look the same all these years, which is the truth (laughs). I had grown a bit plump post the shaadi but I reduced a lot after regular workouts because I wanted to get back fitter. My character (Urmi) too demanded me to look younger as it’s that of a fresh college pass out who gets married. In real life you’re extremely happy with your husband but your on-screen married life is really sad. How do you manage to strike a balance between the two? Samrat (Mohit Mallik) helps me fall in love with my hubby. I would say that more than 80 percent men are like Samrat; most of the women would agree with this. My husband, on the other hand, is really sweet and understanding. But these scenes are extremely stressful for the way Mohit says his line makes me feel that I am his wife for real and he really hates me. His methodical acting, at times, leaves me all shattered and at the end of the day these thoughts depress me. Have you come across such real-life stories? My character relates to a lot of women I know, for every man has a side of Samrat in them be it intentionally or unintentionally. They do not care about their parents or wives. Most of these men are arrogant. How is Mohit as a co-star? He is super fun and trust me he can laugh about anything and when he laughs you have to laugh with him. And if you don’t, he will look at you like it was an important joke and you did not get it. He is not even remotely close to his on-screen character. While his wife on-screen is dependent on him but off-screen he is dependent on his wife Addite (Shirwaikar). Addite has to do everything for him which also includes her coming on the sets when he is not keeping well. I haven’t seen such a cute and cozy couple. Mohit is also one person who cannot say a ‘no’ to anyone. For example on a particular day when I did not get my dabba, I asked for his to which he offered me his food. Later his attendant told me that he was starving. Mohit is also a fabulous dancer; we’ve had a lot of fun dancing together at various events.
