The actress is all set to wow small screen audiences as she will also make an appearance on Salman Khan’s Dus ka dum. In an interesting chat the charming actress talks about TV shows, her childhood, her career and lots more. Why did you choose to judge another reality show? Firstly I believe that in today’s era reality shows are like intoxication. Everyone loves to see reality shows because they get you a complete package in terms of entertainment. And the second reason is that I enjoyed Nach Baliye 4 like anything but after that I wanted to judge a comedy show based on dance or singing. Surprisingly I got an offer to judge Hans Baliye and I am a big comedy lover too so I accepted to be a judge on the show. What is tough for you, comedy or drama? I have done both comedy and drama but I found comedy more difficult, because it’s not easy to make people laugh. If your timing is not good then you will fail as a comedian. Were you upset with the failure of ‘Karishma…..’? Well, success and failure are a part of life. Yes it hurts a lot when an actor gives his heart and soul into a project and gives his hundred percent but audiences reject his efforts. But audiences are never wrong and we have to follow them. Will you do a daily soap again? Well it depends. If I come across a good script then I will surely do that. What do think about saas-bahu serials? I think that the Indian audience has grown up tremendously. The saas-bahu era is over now. I think that the tables have turned now and we can experiment on television. About your comeback with David Dhawan after nine years…. I think that he is one of best directors of Indian cinema and I adore him so much. He has directed me in more than twelve films but this time the scenario is going to be totally different. I am sharing not only the screen but also the judge’s seat with him and this is so exciting for me. How did it feel shooting with Salman for Dus ka dum? Salman is a family friend. I have done a lot films with him too so we share a very good equation. It was the first time when I had been to a game based reality show, but believe me that it was a great fun and I enjoyed myself a lot. Are you satisfied with your career? Yes I am. Infact I have done a large variety of roles which is more than any other actress. I got commercial as well as critical acclaim and I am enjoying my innings on television. How do you balance your family and professional life? You should prioritise your needs. Now I think I can balance both family and profession. What is your best childhood memory? There are a lot of memories but I used to love playing with Bebo (Kareena). I also loved to spend time with my grand father (Raj Kapoor). He was my inspiration as an actor and as an entertainer. He was a great man. What are your future plans for the silver screen? I may come back on the silver screen because my daughter is older and I think that I can give some time to my career now. Though I was getting a lot of offers for a long time I used to refuse because I needed to be with my daughter.
