How important is money to you?
Money is very important. In today’s world people treat you in accordance to the money and social status you have. But one should also keep in mind that money is there today…but can slip away tomorrow.
Are you an impulsive buyer?
Not to that extent. My needs are not much. I don’t buy clothes which are very expensive. I am aware of my wants and desires.
What are the investments you have made?
I don’t gamble. I don’t like investing money in shares and property because nothing gives you proper guarantee. I like to have a certain amount of savings which can secure my future.
What is your most expensive purchase?
My apartment. Having a house in Mumbai is an achievement.
Do you feel financially secure?
Nobody is secure in today’s world. Inflation is eating into everyone’s pocket.
Who handles your expenses?
My mom handles all my expenses because she is a master in this. They have experienced the financial cycle better than us.
What was your first salary?
Rs 1200. I remember it was for a singing competition in my school and later I went home and gave that money to my mom.
How much money do you carry every day?
Generally… I carry 5000 rupees and cards every day. But what happens is that money is never used by me; it is used by my mom. She keeps taking out money from my purse. And later when I have to go somewhere and I realize, on checking my purse, that neither I have money, nor a card (laughs).
Any advice for investors?
Don’t gamble with money. Shares are good but always invest after garnering proper knowledge and information.
